SUSTAINABILITY

MORE THAN AN AFTERTHOUGHT

At OCS, sustainability isn’t an afterthought—it’s the foundation of everything we do. From the materials we select to the way our products are designed, we prioritize circularity to ensure that waste is minimized, resources are used wisely, and our environmental impact is actively reduced.

The Porta-Urinal is a direct reflection of this commitment. It’s not just a product—it’s a statement. A response to the disposable, waste-heavy status quo. Built from durable, medical-grade silicone, the Porta-Urinal is designed to last far longer than traditional plastic alternatives. This reduces the need for constant replacement and cuts down significantly on waste.

In hospitals and homes alike, traditional plastic urinals are often flimsy, uncomfortable, and short-lived—used a few times (or even once) before being discarded. These single-use products contribute to the growing crisis of healthcare waste, which often ends up in landfills or incinerators. We knew there had to be a better way.

The Porta-Urinal is:

  • Reusable and long-lasting – made of silicone that resists cracking, staining, and wear

  • Fully recyclable at end-of-life through our collection program (coming soon!)

  • Designed with zero-waste principles—no extra parts, no unnecessary packaging

  • Part of a future-forward approach to medical product design, focused on system-wide sustainability

This is more than a greener alternative—it’s a step toward a truly circular health care system, where products are designed not just for function, but for longevity, reuse, and responsible recovery.

*We are currently preparing a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to transparently communicate the environmental benefits of the Porta-Urinal compared to traditional options. This data will be published here when made available.
